Discussion: Is Your Past in Your Past?

I'd like to introduce you to Mslildesi's latest BlogTalkRadio topic entitled "Is Your Past in Your Past?".  When you think of the past, it is what forms who we are today whether it is because of a person or an experience.  We are constantly being molded.  Some are more than others.

Mslildesi touches upon relationships, so I'll give you a recent experience with an ex of mine.  My ex from about 8 years ago has been trying to reach out to me to meet up, and I've decided against it.  In my mind, I don't see the point.  I forgave him a long time ago and have since moved on.  I have nothing against him, but feel it's unnecessary to meet up.  He wants a friendship, and I don't.  He thinks I can't move on from the past, and I feel that some people AREN'T necessary to have back in your life.  You can forgive someone and still not have them in your life.  You should think about the reason you removed them from your life in the first place to make a clear decision on if you need them now.

Just like relationships, friendships can end too.  Mslildesi and I had previously fell out due to a disagreement.  I was honestly surprised that we stopped speaking, and was deeply hurt by the fall out.  Yet, I never wished any negativity upon her.  She is truly a sweetheart, and no friendship is perfect.  I won't go into the details of the fallout, but I want you to understand that you can let certain people back into your life.  First, by knowing who the person really is, and then evaluating whether they are important enough to accept back.

While listening to her show, I took a look at myself and could pick out key events in my life where I forgave.  The power of forgiveness is real.  You have control on who you want in your life.  Take a listen to "Is Your Past in Your Past?" and share below how your past has shaped you in the comment section below.  Be sure to catch Mslildesi's show every Wednesday at 11 PM Est on BlogTalkRadio and share in her next discussion.
